IRRATIONAL IN RATIONALITY

A body where to get into is the ‘hardest nut to crack’, among thousands and lakhs of applications are on the table each year, many aspirations washes away, many takes the horrible actions like suicide and many ruins their complete life; it’s very galling to heard that those who got opportunities to enter into, are without rationality, protesting against the Government. Yes, I am talking about the junior doctors of Indore M.Y.H whose nonsense strike is taking breath away from the relatives of those whose someone loving is dying owing not to get treatment properly. What more you expect now from the common-men if the most educated and so-called intellectuals do this? They are adamant at their demands to increase their stipends, to tighten the security of the campus, and to decrease the period of their service to one year in rural areas.

In an exceptionally peachy move the CM of our state enacted a law for the doctors to offer their services for the first two years of their career in rural areas, where the condition is hapless and the inhabitants aren’t getting privileged treatments for the nearly untreatable diseases; the doctors wasn’t and aren’t supporting the cause. When the law came into picture it was well taken by all intellectuals from every profession, but nobody thought of doctors. Would they feel privilege to help the underprivileged ones, the question wasn’t arisen, and owing to profess the universal truth of the profession like this which is known for humanity. The Government even is providing a handsome salary of 35 thousand/month to provide the services in rural areas which is an attractive package many couldn’t think off. We can conclude from here that it isn’t about the emoluments but it’s about the life in rural administration, and the sky high aspirations to become a quick millionaire where they see competition from each other.
What they are getting to give their services in the name of stipend is also a lucrative amount, and it’s in between 22-24 thousand a month, which is not less. Indeed, the problems base isn’t lies here too; actually they might be mesmerized by the speed of development our whole country is going through, the young and dynamic entrepreneurs, film-stars, sportsmen and writers whose talent is rewarding only by capital, which emphatically appeals anyone. In this sense they aren’t wrong but they forget their real duty for which they have been made and mould.

They said that they have been beaten often by the relatives of patients and hence tighten security is what they are demanding, have they gone behind the reason why they have beaten and the simple answer to the question is no. We are living in India where emotions overpowers rationalism, they (the relatives) aren’t think about practical aspects of life and death, cure and illness, severity and simplicity, what comes in mind ‘on the spur of the moment’ decides the forthcoming action. Eventually I want to request to the doctors that try to think rationally. If the mopper coming to your house commences striking to raise her salary, the vegetable venders left selling the vegetables wanting to get subsidy, or the girl/boy you want to marry with, marries someone else owing not to fulfilling her father’s demands to buy an independent home for him. What you are asking for isn’t less than the above ones.

AN INSISTENCE TO DECENTRALIZATION

So many news buzzing-up these days about the establishment of an alternate film industry in Bhopal. And the news has brought euphoria in the locales of Madhya Pradesh specially Bhopal, and the resident actor’s lies within reach. Bhopal although do not have the sufficient resources as of now but the transformation is fast, as more and more filmmakers are taking interest in the city of nawabs for its unbeatable and hypnotic beauty. The lakes present its effigy in a pin-up manner.

From ‘Naya Daur’ back in 1957 to the latest Prakash Jha flick Aarakshan, about half a dozen films have been shot in the city, and many more are in the list including Rumy Jaffrey’s ‘Gali Gali Me Chor Hai’ and Prakash Jha’s Satyagrah. The credit of pulling attention on the city should go to Mr. Prakash Jha, who portrayed the city in very beautiful & elegant manner in his two films; and he proved his decision right to select the city. The second and third fiddle cast available here are local theatre or television artists who owing to different situations came into their life wasn’t able to move to Mumbai to pursue their dreams. So when they get an opportunity to work with such eminent directors and stars they agree on the offering they get to know about. In this way concentration of films budget has been cut either, or been shifted in other technical requirements.

The initiative is indeed appreciable to decentralize the talent exist in such a huge country. Whenever one dreams to pursue a career in films and media he/she reluctantly has to move to Mumbai, or else he/she has to abandon the dreams. Likewise in theatre too there an exits very rare opportunity to excel as theatre is a non-paid medium. The trench in between these two modes of entertainment is huge, the bollywood attracts each and everyone right from artists to businessman’s while theatre attracts only passionate artists. The lifestyle also varies of the artists associated; one is miserable while others are highly prosperous.

In India we have the world’s largest talent pool but the process of upbringing the same is as difficult as ‘to burst the coconut with your palm.’ In this case it’s necessary to decentralize the developed hubs for various activities and arts, and transform the other nuffs into the workplaces. It might have required three things – Either Government has to relax the policies to attract more and more activities across the state, or the productive persons has to create niche in the other cities which would then work as a benchmark for others, or the local talent should have to commence their own industry with the support of senior artists and few money-makers to decentralize the actions. Yes but for now the move is indeed significant. I hope that in other streams also this would begin soon and decentralization would help in development of entire nation rather than a few strong destinations’.
